Hyssop, also known as "Herb de Joseph", is a member of the Mint family. Originating from southern Europe and the Mediterranean, it grows in dry. well drained soil, favoring full sun! Hyssop has been used throughout history in medicinal and magical practices. The Romans used Hyssop for protection against the plague, while the Greeks used it for treating inflammation of the throat and chest. Hyssop was also used by the ancients for smoke cleansing most of their sacred spaces. Today Witches use Hyssop in making teas for bronchial issues as well as using it for magic! Hyssop is a wonderful herb for cleansing, protection, getting rid of bad luck, breaking curses as well as a natural bug repellent!
