Meadowsweet, also known as "Queen of the Meadow", is a member of the Rose family. Originating from Europe and western Asia, it grows in damp soils and grasslands. Throughout history this plant was used to flavor mead, a sacred herb for the Druids, and also as symbol of the "maiden" aspect of the triple Goddess in Celtic lore. Meadowsweet has many health benefits and is used as medicine for things like common colds, stomach ulcers, heartburn, and gout. Witches use it for it's magical properties like lusty love, happiness, peace and communing with the Fae!
